The reinforcement fibre group currently employs 7 full time researchers as well as a number of technical staff, support staff and student assistants.

Alexander Lüking

Alexander Lüking is the head of the reinforcement fibres group and member of the organizing committee of the International Glass Fibre Symposium. Key research areas include:

  • Glass Fibre Production Technology

  • Basalt Fibre Production Technology

  • In-situ thermoplastic coatings of glass fibres

  • Silica-Aerogel Fibres

Thilo Becker

Thilo Becker is the lead investigator in the Industry Research Group on Glass Fibre Technology and the chair of the organizing committee of the Aachen Fibre Symposium. Key research areas include:

  • Glass Fibre Production Technology

  • Basalt Fibre Production Technology

  • Fibre breakage detection mechanisms

  • Sizing application (Glass & Basalt Fibres)
